Chin augmentation strengthens the appearance of a receding or weak chin by increasing its level of protrusion, creating a better balance between your chin and other facial features. Using an implant gives a permanent and predictable result that won’t affect your bite or jaw function. A chin implant is usually added through an incision in the mouth or on the underside of the chin. To ensure proper healing, the chin is bandaged and usually a liquid diet is recommended for the first few days. Most people are up and around the same day but activity should be restricted. The patient should be able to return to work within a day or two after surgery.
