Human and bovine (cow) collagen are the two types of injectible collagen. Zyderm and Zyplast are natural substances derived from purified bovine collagen, and when injected, essentially replace the collagen lost by the skin over time. Human collagen is also available. Collagen injections require pre-treatment allerghy testing and have a relatively shorter lasting effect, usually 6-8 weeks.
